home our services our story communications friends of oban hospice links welcome to the dove centre by oban hospice life-limiting illness can have many challenges for those affected and their relatives. oban hospice offers help through its dove centre. the dove centre offers a friendly and informal environment where people can access information and support. relaxation and mindfulness sessions can be undertaken as well as living well courses. alternative therapies such as reiki, indian head massage and reflexology are available, in addition tolooking good, feeling better treatments which include for example facials, manicure and wig cutting. pastoral care is offered by local clergy. the dove centre is a drop-in centre at 24 stevenson street, oban. it is imilar to maggie’s centres. we support people with cancer at all stages of their journey. people with other life limiting illness are also welcome. therapies, group sessions and one to one support are available for everyone affected by the illness, including families and carers. you are most welcometo drop in at any time, mon-fri, 10am-4pm. or get in touch on: 01631 561315. we aim to provide a person-centred service which is led by the unique needs of each individual. we offer support from diagnosis, by helping individuals and their carers access services that may help. at times of crisis we can offer emotional support when it is often easier to speak to someone outwith family and friends. our community services are also based at the dove centre for those who prefer advice and support in their own home. oban hospice have also refurbished two rooms for patients with terminal illnesses as well as a relatives room in lorn & islands hospital. we are indebted to a range of local companies, businesses and tradespeople who have given their time, resources, energy and money to developing the centre. we particularly thank the friends of oban hospice for their commitment to fundraising locally and to those groups and individuals who have donated funds and who continue to support the work of oban hospice limited. mission statement oban hospice supports best practice in all care settings in lorn and the islands please help us run the dove centre in oban which provides advice and therapies to people with life limiting illnesses such as cancer: "an là" on bbc alba, 11/12/14 tweets by @obanhospice members' area » site design & hosting - pole position
